Elephants!

The picture of the closest, largest elephant doesn't really show how close she actually was to our vehicle. It was the first time Gemma has been scared of being rolled and she's been on heaps of safaris! I had no idea I should have been scared, I just thought it was normal!

More Safari

My 1st Safari

Gemma herself invited some of us on a day safari at Tarengire National Park with her and her 2 little boys. Her 2 nannies accompanied us and only one other volunteer came with me. It was an awesome day! Saw: giraffe, elephants, gazelle, warthogs, baboons, waterbuck, dik dik, zebra, a dung beetle (trust me it was cool), a turtle and a squirrel. Didn't see any lions though.

Happy little artists!

Dinner out at Pius' house!

Several volunteers were invited out to dinner at the oldest student's house and it was great! Such an amazing experience, they don't let you stop eating, they just kept piling up the plate with goat and pork and roast bananas (not the sweet kind).

Shopping with the girls!

Anita and Andrew and I went shopping after our breakfast last Sunday and were picked up by one of the girls from the school and her friends. We had a great time and they took us to a church so I could listen to the singing... amazing!
We went to a wood carving shop and the loveliest stuff is there... ebony elephants, rhinos, giraffes etc.

Finally the pics are working!!!

My Sunday Outing

I went for breakfast at Karama Lodge with Anita, Andrew and Charlotte. We could see Mt Kilimanjaro from the balcony but it didn't show up very well in the photo. The food was fantastic, the view was brilliant and the price was excellent! I'll be going back! We walked one hour to get there, up a steep hill, but it was worth it.
