These Days at St Jude's
All the junior teachers, Prepa and Kinder classes
The children arrive for testing on Fridays as early as 7am - the gates open at 1:30pm. It's impossible to get out of the school on Friday afternoon.
The stick of authority
so, so many, plus their anxious parents
The line of the thousands (literallry up to 2000 each week) of children lining up for the testing ready to be accepted (around 30) or rejected. The first must pass the reading, then writing, then mathematics... even for prep class. You can see the man wielding a stick to try and control them all
Suzanne and class 4E with their basket weaving - can you believe I had to teach the Tanzanian teachers how to weave baskets for Culture Day, so then Suzanne wanted to learn too and use it in her lessons - a great success!
Miss Suzanne with little Peter - the youngest boy at school
