I'm Here
Just to let you all know I arrived safely, though somewhat overwhelmed and in culture shock.
The bus trip from Kenya was incredible. I could barely keep my eyes open, but when I did I saw zebra, ostrich, gazelle things, I think I even saw a hyena. I saw lots of people too, they are everywhere. Masai people, mud huts, women with stuff on their heads and lots of poverty. It's very dusty and smells smoky too.
The school is a bit different close up to what it looks like on the net and tv.
I'll be teaching art but not sure when, to which age or how.
There's so much I have to learn, including lots of Swahili, there's not as much English here as I thought.
I have no food and water at the moment and hope that I can find some from others and pay them back because I can't get to the market with the right money or skills yet. I'll try to figure out if I can upload pictures and write more later when I'm a bit more settled.
It's a lot harder than I thought and I'm really wondering how I'll go.
Love Emily
